WORLD THINKING DAY ( NATIONAL LEVEL )
Date : 21 – 24 February 2019
Venue : IPG Kota Baharu, Kelantan
Penang contingent
comprised 34 girl guides ( Brownies, Girl Guides and Rangers ) and 7 leaders
journeyed to Kota Baharu, Kelantan on 21 February 2019 by bus. We reached the
homestay which was just next to the IPG Kota Baharu after enjoying a scenic
drive across the Titiwangsa Range at around 1.00 pm. All of us rested before
having a local dinner at Wakaf Che Yeh.
The next morning,
registration started at 7.30 am. The girls were given a briefing on the
activities which would be carried out. On top of that, they were also told of
the protocol when the Royal Patron arrived at night to grace the occasion. Then
the choral speaking competition commenced.
Her majesty, the
Queen accompanied by Tunku Soraya,Raja Puan Muda Perak, graced the event at
night. It was an enlightening experience to listen to her Majesty’s narration
of her involvement with Girl Guides. She is what she is today because of Girl
Guides. The girls and the leaders were very excited to meet the Queen.
The next day, all
the girls and leaders took part in the WAGGGS activities. Upon completion of
the activities, certificates were awarded. After lunch the contingent made
their way home to Penang.
